Placement Report 2020: SIBM PUNE

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune offers placements for all MBA specializations. The 2020 placements have concluded on a high note with a total of over 180 student’s participation.

This year more than 90 Plus recruiters have made 186 offers to the students. The highest CTC offered was Rs 34.26 LPA belonging to the student who chose marketing as their specialization. In 2019 the highest CTC offered was 20 lakhs. The median CTC offered was Rs 18.50 lakhs per annum. Students have also accepted 87 pre-placement offers (PPO’S). The highest CTC offered to the male students was Rs 20.08 lakhs whereas to the female students it was Rs 20.27 lakhs. Average CTC for the top 50 students was Rs 27.18 lakhs. Average CTC for the 100 students was 23.59 lakhs and for the top 150 students it wSIBM Puneas Rs 21.44 lakhs.

Finance branch was having the highest PPO’S.

This year, more than 90 companies have participated in the placement process. Some of the top recruiters included Accenture, Dell, Airtel, Capgemini, HSBC and many more.

In 2019, the average salary offered to top 50 students was Rs 27.18 LPA whereas top 100 students received an average salary package of Rs 23.59 LPA.

Apart from the placements, the highest and average salary packages have also seen a rise than that in previous years. In 2018-19 batch, the highest CTC offered was Rs 29 LPA whereas this year the highest CTC went up to Rs 34. 26 LPA. Similarly, in 2019-20 batch, the average CTC offered was Rs 20.14 LPA which was Rs 17.48 LPA in the last year.

The students of SIBM have option to choose from multiple sectors, including Marketing, HR, Operations & Strategy and many more. The highest share of placement went to IT/ ITES sector with 26% placed students, followed by BFSI with 20% placement share. Given below are the details regarding sector-wise placements:

The highest salary package offered to students differs from branch to branch. Marketing students got the highest salary package of Rs 34.26 LPA whereas, the highest salary package offered to Finance students was Rs 20 LPA.

Similarly, the percentage of PPOs offered varies from branch to branch. In Marketing, 46% of students got PPOs but in HR, only 24% of students got PPOs. Given below are the details regarding the branch-wise highest salary package and PPOs:

SIBM Pune Placement Trends

In 2019 placements, more than 90 companies have participated, which was highest in the past three years. In 2018-19 batch, 83 companies have participated whereas, in 2017-18 batch, a total of 85 companies have participated. This year’s placements has also seen a rise in the number of PPOs. A total of 87 PPOs were made this year, which was 83 in the previous year.

This year, more than 90 companies offered a total of 186 job offers which was 192 previous years. So, the number of offers has seen a slight drop-off as compared to the previous year. The below graph depicts the placement trends, including number of job offers and companies in the past four years:
